Position Summary
Are

recruitment of a dedicated, enthusiastic and hardworking Mental
Health Enrolled Nurse in the Mental Health Intensive Care Unit (MHICU) at
Hornsby Hospital. The MHICU is a specialist 12-bed tertiary referral unit with
a focus on high quality evidence-based intensive care management of mental
health consumers. This exciting role offers the successful applicant the
opportunity to work in a low conflict, high therapy model of care with a low
staff to consumer ratio. The position requires strong leadership skills and
team work with a focus on recovery orientated practice. The successful
applicant will demonstrate excellent risk management and conflict resolution
skills. Specialist training in the prevention and management of violence
and aggression will be provided. A strong leadership group of clinical nurse
specialists will also be available for ongoing mentorship and support.

The
Enrolled Nurse is an integral part of the nursing team, working under the
direction and supervision of the registered nurse to provide support and care
for patients through: • Assisting patients with activities of daily living •
Providing physical and psychological comfort and support • Assisting with
assessment including observation and monitoring of health status • Collecting
accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care
documentation. • Communicating with patients, carers and other health care team
members colleagues and regarding nursing care • Undertaking nursing
interventions relevant to the level of practice or accreditation • Collaborating
and assisting with planning and evaluating nursing care
