When you step up to the challenge of becoming an Army doctor, you’ll work
across many disciplines including primary care, occupational medicine, trauma
and rehabilitation, sports medicine, public health medicine, tropical medicine,
medical administration and population health. The skills you acquire along the
way will help you provide the highest standards of medical care, even in
adverse conditions with minimal support and equipment.
In time you may apply for study streams that include orthopaedics and general
surgery, emergency medicine, intensive care medicine and anaesthetics; and as
an Army Officer you’ll learn to be an inspirational leader and mentor.

We’ll pay you as you train (and complete your medical degree course if an
undergraduate). Then on graduation and completion of military training your
starting salary on Medical Level 1 will be at least $90,042 p.a. (including
Allowances) plus generous Super. Progression to Medical Level 2 (which can be
expected within 12 to 18 months) attracts a substantial increase.

Location
Following training in Canberra ACT and Bonegilla VIC, you could be posted to
any Army Medical Company, Medical Centre or Military Hospital.

This role is open to men and women who are Australian Citizens (or Permanent
Residents).
You can enter the Army as a fully-registered medical practitioner, a medical
graduate or as a medical undergraduate with fewer than four years left to
