Challenge (GEC) fund which together aim to improve educational outcomes for

In a period of vast change, with complex
contract arrangements and significant contextual challenges, as our Roving
Project Manager you will provide in-country advice and management support to
ensure the GEC project teams are able to deliver effective and timely
implementation of multi million pound education programmes. You will also:

- Provide
in-country strategic guidance, providing strong leadership and ensuring a
technically sound decision-making processes - Ensure
that effective monitoring and performance management systems are in place
for achieving agreed targets in relation to programme activities, budget
allocations and financial expenditures - Work
with relevant Regional Portfolio Team and PPQ contacts on the progress of
the relevant GEC contracts, highlighting risks and agreeing
recommendations on mitigation actions - Be
part of regular deployments (ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months) to SCI
country programmes with London based briefings pre and post deployment - Contribute
to Save the Children’s learning on girls’ education and education delivery
through the GEC projects - Carry
out other duties where appropriate to the needs of the GEC project team in
country, including acting up as Project Director as necessary.
To be successful you will have significant
experience at a senior management level within fragile or conflict affected
states, managing large institutional donor funded programmes in excess of £5m.
In addition, you will have prior experience of delivering results based
education programming, specifically within education and gender issues relating
to girls education. You will also have:

- Proven
ability to develop and manage relationships with country teams across the
award management cycle and at various levels of seniority - Experience
of working with national and/or regional level government structures to
strengthen the capacity of the state - The
ability to build, lead and develop a team of senior staff with different
backgrounds and expertise, as well as building personal networks at all
levels - Experience
of solving complex issues through analysis, action planning and ensuring
buy-in/ownership of decision making - A
Master’s degree or equivalent in education, gender or development studies
or a related subject - Advanced
French and/or Portuguese - The
ability to be deployed up to 90% of the time
