Role
overview

VSO Rwanda is looking for competent and dynamic Rwandan nationals to fill
several exciting positions of Programme Officers to work in new multi-year
education programme, anticipated to start in Jan 2017. Working closely with
volunteers, partners and primary actors, a Programme Officer at VSO is
responsible for field-level planning, implementation and reporting of programme
activities. It includes coordinating and supporting the implementation of work
plans of several volunteers working on the programme.

Skills,
qualifications and experience required

– Bachelor in education or relevant social sciences from a reputable
University;
– Good understanding of the education system in Rwanda with good networks;
– About 2-3 years of relevant working experience with reputable organisations;
– Good working experience in teacher training and school leadership is desired;
– Good experience in community mobilisation and parental engagement is desired;
– Good appreciation and working experience in social inclusion and gender
equality;
– Good understanding of Vision 2020, EPDRS-2 and Sustainable Development Goals;
– Excellent people skills; mainly relationship building, networking and
coordination skills;
– Excellent communications skills; documenting and writing regular progress
reports;
– Excellent leadership skills; decision making and volunteers’ performance
management.
