Position:
                   
Tea Maker
A
tea company operating within East Africa with a small core team, is seeking to
recruit aTea Makerfor immediate placement to facilitate oversight of its
factory manufacturing and other operational activities.
Main
Duties and Responsibilities:

This
role reports to the Factory Manager.The Tea Maker would be required to assist
with specific activities pertaining to factory operations.
The
Tea Maker is responsible for management of productivity and quality
improvement ensuring that the factory is run to the highest manufacturing
standards. He/she maintains a consistent standard of manufacturing, quality
establishment and sustenance.
He/she
will:
  • Train
    and develop all staff on tea processing and manage factory industrial
    relations
  • Coordinate
    all human resource matters of the factory including participating in HR
    planning, recruitment and discipline of factory employees
  • Ensure
    that the factory’s annual revenue budget & expenditure controls are
    in place
  • Ensure
    good hygienic conditions of factory & workers are maintained
  • Support
    installation of new processes & machinery and take charge of
    machinery maintenance and/or modification
  • Deliver
    the business targets aligned to the KPIs
  • Implement
    all company policies and procedures in the factory
  • In
    liaison with FactoryManager, prepare factory budgets & capital
    expenditure proposals
  • Be
    accountable for the custody of company assets in the factory
  • Ensure
    implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Policies and other
    regulatory requirements
  • Be
    responsible for the implementation of certification programmes e.g. ISO,
    Rainforest Alliance
  • Take
    charge of engineering requirements & maintenance of utility services
  • Performany
    other duty as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:
  • Graduate
    in Food Science, Production Technology, Agricultural, Mechanical,
    Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science (Chemistry)At least four
    (4) years progressive work experience in related areas
  • Fluency
    in English, French and Kinyarwanda
  • Computer
    literate
