Implication of Noise Pollution to Human Health

Several
health implications arising from noise pollution causes damages on human
health. Some of these implications are as follows:
1. Mental Health
The most
immediate effect of noise is deteriorations of mental health for example,
people who are living too close to the production industry, probably be quite
jumpy.

2. Causes Hearing Loss
Elevated
in industries or at work place or other noise can cause hearing loss or
impairment, hypertension, annoyance and sleep disturbance.
3. Noise pollution is known to increase digestive spasms due to high level
of sound and this could be the precursor of chronic gastro-intestinal problem (Barksolate
2011).
4. Fairly typical roadway noise levels are sufficient to constrict arterial
blood flow and to elevate blood pressure (Maschke 2003).
5. Noise pollution could take a severe toll on human health in the long
run. The effects will become apparent immediately but there could be
repercussion later on.
6. Noise pollution can cause temporary deafness in a period of time, if the
noise pollution continues as it helplessly does in any producing industry
(Nwanckukwu 2009).
7. Over time, the mind may just lose its capacity to
concentrate on things (Cowan, 2006).
