Camp Management and Protection Project Manager Job Vacancy in Zwedru, Liberia

Job description
â- Under the supervision of the AM, be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and follow-up of the program activities in the assigned area

â- In close coordination with the AM, represent NRC towards international and national partners, local authorities, donors and beneficiaries
â- Actively participate in coordination and protection meetings; establish and maintain good work relations with UNHCR, local authorities, relevant partners, other UN agencies and beneficiaries’ leaders
â- Ensure that NRC’s program activities and operations develop in line with NRC’s mandate, polices, procedures and country specific strategies
â- Organize regular field visits to ensure technical support to the teams and proper monitoring of the activities
â- Prepare monthly activity and expenditures plans
â- Prepare regular activity and project reports for the AM and donors
â- Ensure that program activities are respectful of NRC and donor procedures and guidelines
â- Contribute to refine data collection, monitoring and reporting tools
â- Supervision of program staff in the assigned area, provide training and capacity building
â- Be responsible, together with the AM, for recruitment of new staff
â- Guarantee the respect of the Code of Conduct, the confidentiality and humanitarian principles – particularly “do not harm”- and contribute to the mainstream of protection and AGD (Age, Gender and Diversity) into programming.

Qualifications
â- Bachelor degree in International Studies, Political Sciences, International development, International law or other related field
â- At least 3 years field experience in humanitarian refugee/IDPs related programs
â- Proven management and financial skills
â- Demonstrated experience in working and managing/coordinating emergency projects in a challenging environment
â- Experience in working with international NGOs and UN agencies in emergency operations
â- Background from protection work, previous experience in camp management and/or protection monitoring programs
â- Political and cultural awareness and experience of working in remote areas
â- Significant understanding of protection of refugees, human rights, IHL and humanitarian principles, as well as participatory assessment methodology.
â- Experience in capacity building and training of staff is preferable
â- Proven communication, interpersonal, analytical and report writing skills â- Fluency in English, both written and oral â- Knowledge of French â- Strong Computer skills â- Holder of a valid international driver’s license
â- The Project Manager will be based in NRC’s Field Office(s) in Grand Gedeh County, in order to be able to manage/oversee the project’s substantive work in the field. Liberia’s towns are usually quiet and relatively safe. Foreigners can normally move around without harassment or danger, provided they follow security measures in place and respect local cultural sensibilities. Housing in Liberia is of a moderate standard and in most field locations is in the same building as the office. Recreational and social facilities are relatively limited.

We offer

â- Contract period: 12 months
â- Salary/benefits: PC/PM subject to qualification of selected candidate. According to NRC’s general directions, approximately NOK 43900/ 44800,- (5680/5800€) per month, and free housing of moderate standard.
