IRC Senior Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE / GBV) Coordinator Job Vacancy in Liberia

IRC Liberia seeks a Senior Coordinator for Women’s Protection and Empowerment to lead the development and implementation of all GBV-related projects within the Women and Girls Rebuilding Nations Program. S/he will be a member of the senior management team, with direct responsibility for managing and developing all programming related to reducing the impact of gender based violence on women and girls, reducing vulnerability to violence, increasing protection and enhancing educational and economic opportunities. IRC Liberia is currently implementing programming in four counties and will launch the second phase of the WGRN program with additional funding for three years. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in working with gender based violence. S/he will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically, innovate and mentor teams. The senior coordinator will be expected to travel at least 30% of the time to IRC’s multiple field sites, currently in Lofa, Nimba and Grand Gedeh counties. S/he will provide guidance and oversight to programs, supervise 4 direct reports and oversee a team of 30 Liberian staff. The position reports to the country director.

Responsibilities:
• Lead all aspects of programming in achieving a standard of excellence in reducing gender based violence, increasing protection for women and girls and increasing economic empowerment.
• Develop and implement strategic vision for new round of holistic, comprehensive programming that creates long-term and sustainable outcomes.
• Serve as team leader for all WP&E programming, providing strong mentoring and guidance to a dedicated team of national staffers.
• Lead the development of new initiatives, program implementation, and program design and monitoring.
• Develop new project proposals and works closely with the country senior team and technical units to build project portfolio within the WGRN program.
• Responsible for coordinating all aspects of program implementation, including development of workplans, budgets and monitoring and evaluation.
• Build strong relationships with the Ministry of Gender and Development and other NGOs and UN agencies active in GBV.
• Ensure that quality reports to donor are submitted in a timely manner.
• Monitor all GBV project budgets and work with finance team and operations team to ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations and IRC policy and procedures.

Requirements
• Degree in social sciences or relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 7 years in GBV program management including implementation, staff recruitment, training, supervision and team building.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of women and girls.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in conflict / post-conflict or development settings.
• Demonstrated experience in project design, management and monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong capacity building and facilitation skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
