Immediately after a disaster people are confronted by damaged homes or displacement. This can have a devastating impact on a family’s health, livelihoods and protection. Save the Children run Emergency Shelter programmes that provide shelter materials or household items for those in desperate need. Shelter provision is
essential to maintaining people’s dignity and privacy, ensuring families can stay together, protecting children from the ill-health and disease and supporting coping strategies for livelihoods and early recovery. It is therefore critical to Child Survival and Protection. The successful post holder will manage Shelter Emergency Response Personnel (ERPs) and together they will form our new Humanitarian Shelter Team.
