Akili Minerals Services Ltd is a young and rapidly growing mineral exploration services and drilling company based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The company currently operates 5 core-drilling rigs, and a fleet of various vehicles, mainly located at project sites in Kenya and East Africa.
AMS is currently looking for a qualified and experienced mechanical engineer to:
• Plan and manage the maintenance and repairs of the machines and vehicles;
• Supervise and train the company’s mechanics;
• Rapidly resolve breakdowns;
• Ensure maximum availability of drilling rigs and vehicles;
• Manage spares, consumables and tools (inventory and procurement)
• Identify, recommend and manage external resources where necessary.
The suitable candidate will have the following qualities:
• Excellent planning and management skills;
• Good communication skills;
• IT literate;
• Superior problem solving and diagnosing skills;
• Ability to find rapidly necessary information;
• Hands on, lead by example.
Qualification and experience:
• BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10 years experience in fleet / maintenance management.
• Experience in diesel engines and a hydraulic system is mandatory.
• Experience in petrol engines, auto-electrics an added advantage.
