MzN | International is a non-profit association of
development and aid professionals working with NGOs and donors to make
humanitarian aid more efficient. With more than 75 staff and consultants in
more than 12 countries, we apply our expertise and network to help with
fundraising, recruitment, finance & grant management, training, and other
services to increase their impact.
We are currently looking for Country Directors for
various countries in West Africa – Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Mali, Togo, Cote
d’Ivoire, and Mauretania.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordination
  Develop
country strategy and operational plans and ensure programmes and advocacy are
in line with the country strategy, operational plans and budgets
  Develop
and maintain efficient and effective operating systems and ensure compliance
with internal operational standards, as well as with donor requirements and
local law.
  Ensure
security and safety procedures are up to date, and shared with and followed by
staff
  Ensure
that all team members coordinate, plan and implement all activities to meet the
objectives
  Prepare
for and implement rapid and effective responses to emergencies
Administration, Logistics, and Finance
  Oversee
management of grants including the appropriate expenditure of funds
 
Responsible for the financial integrity of the programme, ensuring
resources are utilised cost effectively, and activities are implemented in
accordance to available budget
  Work in
close co-ordination with the SMT, overseeing proper execution of the programmes
  Ensuring
all administrative responsibilities are met and finances are in good order
  Provide
oversight to all logistics, including procurement, fleet and office management,
warehousing, shipping, vehicles, etc.
  Ensuring
procedures and practices correspond to legal requirements Fundraising and Grant
Management
  Liaise
with current and future donors to advance programme ideas, apply for funding
and share information on the status of programmes
  Ensure
proposals are drafted in a timely and professional manner in a format
consistent with organisation’s and donor guidelines, and are reviewed and
approved by HQ prior to official submission Representation
  Establish
and maintain relationships with partners, donors, authorities and peer
organisations
  External
representation of the organisation
 
Responsible media coverage of events, issues and programs
HR Management
  Line
management of management team, ensuring effective management of programme staff
  Oversee
recruitment of local staff in accordance with labour laws
  Ensure
adherence to contracts, guidelines, and internal rules
  Ensure
effective implementation of staff performance reviews
  Coordinate
weekly and ad hoc team meetings, as well as MT meetings to ensure that the team
works harmoniously to meet the needs of the programme
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  Master
Level education in a relevant field such as International Relations or
Development
  At least
ten years of professional experience, of which at least four years in a senior
management position, preferable in developing countries
  Extensive
project management experience in emergency and/or development programmes
  Excellent
planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to provide
strategic support for multi-sector and/ or multi-country programmes
  Experience
in overseeing and managing budgets and administration systems
  Knowledge
of requirements , and experience in budgeting and reporting to major donors
(USAID, DFID, ECHO, UN agencies, WB, EC, AusAID, EuropeAID)
  Proven
experience in staff management, supervision, staff development, training, and
capacity building
 Strong
negotiation, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, with
experience in managing multicultural teams
  Safety and
security management experience
  Computer
literate (i.e. MS Word, advanced Excel, Email communication software (e.g.
Outlook), Internet Explorer, financial systems)
  Excellent
written and spoken English and French
