YPWC Contribute to a Research on the Economic Crisis and Migration Job Vacancy in Ghana

TASK
YPWC is intending to undertake a research under the
theme “Four Years into the Crisis: A Multidimensional Investigation of the
Impact of International Migration and Remittances on Children and Families Left
Behind.” This study is expected to help us understand the coping
strategies of migrants households in times of crises.
The project is expected to last between now and the
end of the year. However we will need the support of expert volunteers in
finalizing a draft proposal for funding by 18 May 2013. Afterward there will
need to be some literature review and development of questionnaires with a
deadline of June 30, 2013 YPWC will organize a skype call to explain the
expectations and the details of the project to applicants whenever the need
arises.

BACKGROUND
INFORMATION
YPWC is interested in understanding how migration
affects households and in this period of economic crises and recovery for some
countries we would want to understand the behavior of migrants and their
families in the countries of origin like Ghana.
OBJECTIVE
We hope that through this we will be able to have
some scientific evidence on the coping strategies of migrants in times of
crises and propose some policy response to the situations of households
affected. Through this we also hope to understand the welfare situation of
migrant households.
