Senior Economist
Central (Singapore) – The Concourse
Responsibilities:
• Conduct business development activities, including preparing proposals and presentations focusing on South East Asia including Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
• Conduct economic development, property-related, leisure/tourism, and infrastructure related research and analysis
• Provide market analysis, demand assessment, due diligence, feasibility studies, financial modelling and other advisory work for leading regional and international real estate / infrastructure / economic development / tourism and resort projects.
• Compile and organize research data to produce projection models and presentations.
• Document research data, analysis and projection models into economic, leisure/tourism and real estate market reports.
• Econometric modeling and demand modeling using excel.
• Interact with urban design, environmental and infrastructure planning teams in an integrated working environment. Lead financial feasibility and land use phasing studies.
• Provide development recommendations and strategies for entertainment, leisure and tourism projects in Asia.
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Economics, Tourism/Hospitality, Planning, Real Estate, or Property related disciplines.
• 4-6 years consulting experience, preferably with a developer, operator, brokerage/ property consultancy, private equity, or investment firm.
• Demonstrated knowledge of/ interest in real estate, transportation, infrastructure, hospitality & tourism (including leisure attractions), economic development, and/or related fields.
• Research and analytical skills (including numerical/data analysis): how to find and collect data, process it, use it for forecasting and projections, draw relevant conclusions, and communicate these in meaningful ways.
• Self motivated, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more, and a desire to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Excellent English communication and writing skills are a must, with experience in report writing.
• Fluency in one or more Asian languages (Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Vietnamese) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required. Abilities with other graphic/document layout software: eg. Adobe CS Suite including Photoshop, Indesign will also be considered.
• Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, with a high degree of confidence and social skills a must, as is the ability to travel within the region.
• This role will be based in Singapore.
