Casualty Assistant Underwriter / Underwriter
(Kuala Lumpur – Bangsar)
Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for the risk portfolio assigned to him/her. He/She selects, assesses, rates and underwrites the risks
• Support business in joint agreement with Marketing, on both treaty and facultative reinsurance solutions
• Together with the respective marketer he/she is responsible for the client relationship
• Fully adhere to the Underwriting Guidelines and follow the Code of Conduct
• Administer the responsible Casualty portfolio; ensure underwriting data quality, and report business according to the company’s requirements
• Provide support to the Underwriter for training and development to marketers and external clients
Requirements:
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for Assistant Underwriter position
• Minimum 3 years – preferably up to 5 years of underwriting or broking experience in casualty and/or financial lines in an insurance and/or reinsurance environment
• Prior exposure to more than one market would be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills, proficiency in spoken and written English
• Able to analyze and interpret financial statements including but not limited to profitability, liquidity, and leverage ratios
