We are currently looking for an additional outstanding Software Developer to add to our team. As a Software Developer you would be responsible for many phases of development including technical research, requirements analysis, high level and technical design, implementation of new functionality, unit testing, debugging and maintenance. Software Developer
About the Role:
* Writing application programs of moderate to high complexity employing programming development tools as used by Provincial Airlines and enterprise class application development tools in order to meet user needs
* Perform programming/system specifications and prepare intermediate functional specs
* Test and debug computer programs in order to ensure application operates correctly and meet user requirements
* Assist in the writing of final user, system, and program documentation in order to facilitate system use and future modifications
* Maintain existing systems and respond to problems in order to ensure programs remain effective
* Leads and/or participate in walk-through of system and program designs, coding, and testing in order to minimize occurrence of program problems
* Flexible to travel for periodic system implementation and support if required
* Must be available for periodic on-call support for local systems and applications
Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience
* Minimum 5 years experience programming applications
* Knowledge of C#.Net, ASP.Net, C++, COM, DCOM, ActiveX, Java, Visual Basic, VB Script, SQL, XML, would be an asset
* Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members and non-technical members of the organization
* Analytical, systematic and strong trouble-shooting and fault-finding skills
* Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
* Proactive and responsive, with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management and multitasking abilities
* Requirement to obtain a Transport Canada government security clearance at the requisite level
