Experts Call
DAI seeks technical
experts for an anticipated project in Tanzania called Water Resources Integration
Development Initiative (WARIDI). This 5-year, approximately $50 million project
will work at the Rufuji and Wami-Ruvu river basins and will have four main
components:
· Increasing and
strengthening multiple-use water and sanitation services;
· strengthening
governance of water resources and services;
· improving
livelihoods through private sector investment; and
· strengthening
coastal management to adapt to climate change.
DAI seeks technical
experts with expertise in the following areas:
· watershed
management;
· development of
sustainable multiple-use services in water, sanitation, and hygiene;
· institutional
strengthening and capacity building;
· behavior change
communication;
· enterprise and
private sector development;
· financial services
and facilitating access to finance, payment for ecosystem services (PES);
· climate change
adaptation.
Core
Responsibilities:
The Technical
Specialists will design and lead activities for the WARIDI project, ensuring
quality and timely implementation of activities in accordance with the
project’s workplan.
Required
Qualifications
· Minimum of 8 years
of experience in natural resources management in sub-Saharan Africa;
· Experience
managing staff and other resources to achieve results;
· Experience working
collaboratively with local governments, the local private sector, local
communities and implementers of other donor-funded activities;
· Advanced degree in
environment, water, business, finance, economics, or a relevant field; and
· Excellent oral and
written English language communication skills.
