Job Summary: The Information Technology Officer will work in consultation
with the OSIEA Finance & Administration Director and Open Society
Foundations- New York Systems Director to develop information technology
strategies and services that are consistent with the business goals of OSIEA.
The incumbent will be supporting OSIEA staff operating in Kenya, Uganda,
Tanzania, Sudan and South Sudan and will have the responsibility to run the IT
support operations, telecommunication operation and network, backend and CLOUD
server operation. The IT Officer will also be responsible for promoting
information systems standards and guidelines in compliance with Open Society
Foundations IT Best Practices and Policies. The IT Officer has the
responsibilities to advise, budget, implement, and execute information systems
standards and projects for all OSIEA offices.

timely technical guidance, support and training to OSIEA staff - Develop
Scope of Work and manage outside consultant to provide user support
services for other OSIEA country offices

project schedules and budgets. The scope of the work includes all tasks
from conception of projects to final implementation - In
charge of making Information Systems recommendation on network, server,
CLOUD and telecommunication standards and guidelines

- Actively
monitor local area network and backend server operation to develop
performance baseline for future project planning and develop proactive
support planning to improve service quality and reliability - Administrate
Microsoft Windows domain security and design. Grant Management System
application server administration
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The best
candidates should possess a Related / IT Degree preferred and / or
demonstrated advancement of further tertiary education - A
minimum of five or more years’ experience in computing or related
area with a focus on Microsoft Windows Operating System, SQL
application server and VMware Virtualization platform and Cisco networking - Possession
of Microsoft Windows Server and other application server certification and
VMware certification is also desired - The
ideal candidate should have significant experience in managing end-to-end
IT (servers, networks, voice, desktop) - Extensive
knowledge implementing Information Technology security policy and
structure in Microsoft Windows, Wired and Wireless Network Access
Protection and Control - Past
exposure and experience working with Microsoft Windows and SQL Server - Working
knowledge working with VMware server virtualization platform - Knowledge
implementing and supporting CLOUD application - Significant
experience working with Cisco networking equipment in layer 2 and 3
network configuration and Cisco PIX/ASA VPN Firewall configuration and
troubleshooting
