Companion Aides
Provides client services within the role of a companion aide in the following areas:
– Planning and preparing meals
– Preparing special diets
– Completing light housekeeping and laundry
– Assisting with errands
– Transporting to and from appointments in own car
– Patient Sitter
– Shopping
– Caregiver relief/respite care
– Accompanying clients to appointments
– Maintains effective relationships with clients providing physical and emotional independence
– Maintains effective relationships with other team members
– Effectively communicates changes in the client condition to the supervisor
– Travel to client’s home

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A current CPR and First Aid Certificate is an asset.
• A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check issued in the past six months is required
• A knowledge of household management skills is required. Food Safety course an asset
• Possess valid driver’s license, proof of clean driver’s abstract
• Access to own transportation is required. Vehicle must be in good repair and working order
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written) and exercise good judgement is required
• Ability to lift up to 25 kilograms may be required
• One year of relevant experience is preferred

PERSONAL SUPPORT STAFF
PART-TIME
Ajax and Pickering
Location:
Durham Region
Canada

These positions will assist clients in the activities of personal care, household management and generalized services as per the client care plan and in conjunction with Saint Elizabeth Health Care’s policies and procedures.

Requirements:
• A PSW Certificate
• A current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Availability to work all shifts, including days, evenings and week-ends
• A knowledge of household management skills
• A working knowledge of assistive aids
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written) and exercise good judgment
• Ability to provide own transportation
• Must be available to cover Ajax and Pickering
• Additional education and/or training an asset
