Summary
The Community Engagement Coordinator will develop a program to bring ReForest London to Londoners – through the schools, community events, festivals, social media, and other events and opportunities; develop and maintain a volunteer management program; and develop our donor stewardship program. We are looking for a “people” person who can engage people of different backgrounds and earn and retain their support of ReForest London.
Pay
Pay is equivalent to EI Benefits ($423/week for a 37.5 hour work week).
Qualifications
* Four year liberal arts degree preferred. High school diploma required.
Experience
* Volunteer experience (as a volunteer, and/or managing volunteers) required.
* Experience in teaching, customer service, sales, outreach, etc preferred.
* Project management experience preferred.
Skills
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Flexible, used to dealing with multiple projects at a time
* Excellent time management skills
* Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.
* Knowledge of tree species, principles of ecology preferred.
Other requirements
* Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Responsibilities
The Community Engagement Coordinator will be engaged in a number of our programs, but most primarily the Million Tree Challenge, along with our Park Naturalizations.
* Organize and participate in community events to promote ReForest London’s mission. These include community fairs and festivals, eco-festivals, etc.
* Improve existing and develop new outreach materials
* Recruit and schedule volunteers for ReForest London to participate in community fairs, education booths, and other invited booth opportunities
* Develop a volunteer management program to attract, train, retain and recognize our volunteers
* Create a database with a computer program to track and communicate with volunteers
* Communicate with volunteers regularly
* Recruit volunteers for new activities
* Organize a volunteer recognition event
* Develop a robust stewardship program to keep our partners and donors informed of our activities, thank them for their support, and invite them to future engagement
* Create a database with a computer program to track and communicate with donors
* Ensure that our website is up-to-date with appropriate donors
* Communicate regularly with supporters through Annual Report, holiday cards and other opportunities to invite them to volunteer with ReForest London at specific events
* Attend planting events to work directly with volunteer tree planters
* Promote ReForest London to supporters through social media
* Participate in job-relevant ReForest London Board committees
