Falls Brook Centre has a paid Summer Internship position for 2014. The
internship run from July 7-August 29, at our site in Glassville, NB.

be given to local students, as well as those students studying in the

Falls Brook Centre is a Canadian non-profit, specializing in the
education and demonstration of sustainable community development at
home and abroad. Our work focuses on six program areas: biodiversity,
organic agriculture, renewable energies and sustainable building,
education, community and youth development, and international
development.
Situated on 97 acres, Falls Brook Centre is ideally positioned to live
out, and by, the values we hold. We are looking for someone who is
adaptable, eager to learn, and excited about living off the land in a
rural setting. We are currently hiring a:
Wetlands & Biodiversity Assistant
Reporting to the Restoration Specialist, the Wetlands & Biodiversity
Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of:
• On-site wetlands and biodiversity demonstration development in
conjunction with FBC staff and external partners
• On-site monitoring and cataloging of species
• Educational infrastructure development
• Development of educational materials
• Delivering educational programming to the public
In addition to these career-focussed activities, the intern will also
be involved in many of the necessary day to day tasks that keep Falls
Brook Centre running, such as:
• On-site organic agriculture development in conjunction with FBC
staff and partners
• Maintenance of on-site organic gardens
• Coordination of continuing education workshops and events
• On-site infrastructure development using natural building/renewable
energy techniques
The RE Assistant will also have opportunities for continued education
through workshop participation and network and relationship building.
In addition to internship-focussed soft-skills workshops, the intern
will also have the opportunity to attend any of our continued
education workshops for free.
From puppetry to renewable energy systems, wetland restoration to a
fun and fabulous Free School, Falls Brook Centre has tonnes going on
this summer, and all kinds of ways to be involved. If you’re
