all-organic, including food catering in our 2nd floor conference space
as well as to business meetings/conferences of various sizes

well as monthly documentary film nights.

More than just a bakery, our 30 year vision has been to offer
wholesome organic fair-trade food products, promote healthy and
sustainable lifestyle choices, provide vegan and vegetarian lunch
options, and foster social and environmental activism to our customers
and business community.

Our facility strives to use as much locally grown produce as possible,
and in the summer we have a large garden out back with vegetables,
herbs and edible flowers. Everything is organic, of course.

About Whitehorse, Yukon Territory

Alpine Bakery is located in downtown Whitehorse, which is on the banks
of the mighty Yukon River, surrounded by pristine mountains, lakes,
and spacious sky. A place of ‘magical’ extremes — the dark of winter,
with awesome northern lights and winter sports, such as
downhill/cross-country skiing, snowboarding, dog sled-mushing and the
Canada Games indoor sports center.

Summers are exceptionally beautiful with long days of sunlight ideal
for mountain biking, hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, and camping.
There is a vibrant arts community with year round concerts,
exhibitions and classes. Most visitors and new residents find
Whitehorse “very friendly” and are usually surprised by the modernity
in housing/communications, tax advantages, and daily access to
Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary via short jet flights with Air North
and Air Canada.

Job Description/Duties:
• This is a moderately demanding position. Candidates should have
experience and references, both personal and professional.

Benefits include:
• Weekly organic produce bag, daily loaf of bread, 2 meals a day,
totaling approx. $300 a month.

food and people.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Preference is given to candidates who:
• Are good natured, share our vision, including a healthy lifestyle
• Are willing to make a long term commitment of 2 years or more
• Demonstrate maturity, an awareness of others and an ability to lead
a team of passionate and interesting people in the daily operations of
a bakery
• Enjoy life and have a positive outlook
• Have a good command of the English language
• Are enthusiastic about working in a multicultural environment and
meeting people from all over the world
• Are willing to take initiative and are self motivated
• Have excellent customer service skills and are able to implement
solutions as needed with humility, patience and kindness
• Have prior experience and a sincere desire to innovate and expand
one’s perspective
• Have conscientious work ethic, with exhibited appreciation for
organization, efficiency and cleanliness in a fast paced environment
• Have an appreciation for the ethical, environmental and health
benefits of vegetarianism is essential. Being a vegetarian, however,
is not required.
