Who you are
An entrepreneurial, highly motivated
individual with a passion for
building a more responsible economy in BC. You love dialogue that’s
rooted in solid research, and you have a knack for refining and
executing big visions. You’re a clear communicator and great
relationship-builder who can build and manage diverse relationships.
You thrive on finding creative solutions to challenging problems. You
also have deep roots in the local business or academic communities.
Specific skills and experience:
• Solid knowledge of basic economic principles
• Strong writer and communicator
• Excellent strategic thinker
• Exceptionally motivated
• Experience raising funds through donations, sponsorship or membership fees
• Media spokesperson experience is an asset
• Experience working on or with a board
About the role
We are looking for someone who can confidently and creatively lead
CRED into its next phase. You will work together with our Project
Coordinator and a team of advisors, trustees and talented freelancers
to execute CRED’s vision, producing high-quality and relevant
research, collaborative events, and engaging publications. You are the
person who drives the project forward and ensures its success. On a
day-to-day basis, you will move seamlessly from overseeing research
reports to speaking at public events to raising funds to grow our
capacity.
This is a contract role for 3 days a week for an initial six-month
period, with the potential to become full-time. Although it is
freelance, there is an option to locate in the same co-working space
as the Project Coordinator. Compensation is competitive and based on
experience.

Conversations for Responsible Economic Development (CRED) is a
not-for-profit business research and advocacy organization based in
Vancouver, B.C. We are an association of academics, professionals and
BC business leaders interested in a fact-based conversation around
energy development and opportunities for long-term prosperity on BC’s
West Coast. CRED is fiercely pro-business and pro-economic
development. Our focus is on sharing facts and original research –
backed up by reliable data – on BC economic issues, speaking to the
need to protect our regional economy from threats, and promoting and
advocating for economic sectors that leverage BC’s creativity,
innovation and natural beauty.
Two years after founding, we are well established and ready to scale
up and widen our analysis to include more sectors that are driving
forces of BC’s economy. This year, we are focusing on solutions-based
research and greater communications around key issues that will
inspire conversations and shape the future of our province.
