GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide design and support to the Conservation Authority’s
Integrated Watershed Management monitoring program activities
including data collection,
storage, use, analysis and interpretation.
This will be achieved using established methodologies and new
innovations to generate a practical and meaningful understanding of
the processes and stressors the North Bay-Mattawa watersheds are
experiencing.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum four year post-secondary degree in environmental management
or water resources studies.
• Minimum three years of job related experience.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data management tools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Possess a valid Class “G” Driver’s license in good standing. A
driver’s abstract will be required.
• Pleasure Craft Operators card and Standard First Aid would be an asset.
SUMMARY OF TASKS
• Assess the relevance of watershed monitoring data and interpret its
significance.
• Choose and utilize appropriate statistical analysis and data management
tools.
• Assist in determining the parameters and sites to be monitored to
support upcoming projects identified in the NBMCA watersheds.
• Assist in selecting appropriate/meaningful data to be used in models
and databases to support NBMCA programs (i.e. WISKI/Flood Event
Database).
• Assist in structuring requests for proposals and contracts for
consultants to complete watershed technical studies.
• Assist in assessing the work of consultants as part of a project
management team.
• Serve a liaison and communication function with external partners.
• Manage seasonal staff conducting water quality sampling and other
data collection tasks.
COMPENSATION $55,835 to $65,320/ year JOB DURATION Full time
