Position: Energy Coordinator
Type: full-time, 6 month position with the likelihood of extension

Description:

You’re confident, creative, and highly talented with fire in your belly – all
the attributes of an incredible Energy Coordinator. You are just the person to
drive the development of dynamic new partnerships, products, and services as
well as fulfill traditional grant requirements.

You have post-secondary training as an engineer, or in a related field,
providing experience with renewable energy theory, design and application. You
are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborative projects, and an
intimate team environment.

You are just as at easy presenting project concepts to a board room of
potential partners, as you are delivering educational workshops to gaggles of
kids in the field.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Energy Coordinator works to increase
energy efficiency and use of renewable energy as well as to increase capacity
for energy efficiency and renewable energy technology for individuals,
institutions and government within the Maritime Region. Working in conjunction
with other FBC staff, the Energy Coordinator is responsible for: public
advocacy, providing content expertise in the development of educational
materials and events, developing renewable energy products for sale, providing
or facilitating the provision of technical services, developing the Falls Brook
Centre demonstration/ education site as it relates to energy generation,
conservation and usage, fund acquisition and fund management.

Within this contract period, your responsibilities will be as follows:

Energy Efficiency:
• Develop site specific solutions to increase energy efficiency in existing
infrastructure
• Develop site specific solutions to ensure high energy efficiency in
forthcoming infrastructure
• Work in conjunction with the Education Coordinator to provide content
expertise relating to energy efficiency for public/private schools, life-long
learning, and site related materials (assisting with delivery when appropriate)
• Promote & advance energy efficient strategies for individuals,
institutions, and government within the Maritime Region

Use of Renewable Energy:
• Develop site specific solutions for renewable energy technology integration
into existing infrastructure
• Develop site specific solutions for renewable energy technology integration
into forthcoming infrastructure
• Work in conjunction with the Education Coordinator to provide content
expertise relating to renewable energy for public/private schools, life-long
learning, and site related materials (assisting with delivery when appropriate)
• Promote and advance renewable energy technologies for individuals,
institutions and government within the Maritime Region

Stakeholder Engagement:
• Serve as the provincial coordinator for Renewables NB
• Identify and engage key stakeholders operating within the Maritime Region,
serving as FBC representative/ contact within these groups

Fund Seeking/ Management:
• Investigate and pursue funding which directly relates to enhancing energy
efficiency and renewable energy use on and off site
• Investigate and pursue funding which supports educational activities relating
to energy efficiency and renewable energy on and off site
• Manage acquired funding and fulfill all related obligations in conjunction
with the Executive Director

Other:
• Assist with general operation of FBC demonstration/ education site
• Assist other staff during major organizational events
• Other tasking as assigned by the Executive Director

Eligibility:

Individual:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must be unemployed, underemployed or working less than 15 hours per week.
• Must be a resident of New Brunswick.
• Individuals must be between 18-29 (at least 18 years old but less than 30
years old at the time of application).
• Must be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution within the last
four years.
• Have not previously participated in a Youth Employment Fund placement.

This is a full-time, 6 month position with the likelihood of extension.
Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred. The Energy Coordinator must
able to travel to Glassville, New Brunswick on occasion throughout the contract
period.
