Kind Organics is a certified organic farm located near Hamilton/Brantford,
Canada. We produce about 60 varieties of greens, edible flowers, herbs, and
other seasonal crops. We have several greenhouses on our main property, which
we operate year-round, and a large acreage located a few minutes from the farm
that we cultivate during the outdoor growing season – between May and October.
• Room and board + $150 stipend will be paid weekly. + $350 Bonus will be paid
for staying the whole season!
• We work 7-10 hours/day, 6 days a week (less in the spring and winter months).
Some days are longer during the busy season.
• (There are 10-12 of us living and working here.)
• There are several different accomodation options available here at the farm.
Internship Details
Interns will learn about all of the following and be holding focus for some of
these duties:
• Sprout growing – You will learn about all aspects of soil and hydroponic
sprout production and perform the following duties:
• Soaking, Planting, Rinsing, watering and harvesting sprouts
• Planting and Harvesting Petite greens
• Packaging Sprouts and Greens
• Composting
• Preparing orders and preparing vehicles for farmers markets. Packing coolers
with product, ice packs and packing vehicles
• Seeding – Planting lettuces, vegetables and greens such as Kale, Tomatoes,
Peppers, Eggplant, Lettuces. We grow about 60 varieties of greens, edible
flowers and herbs.
• Help to package and create value added products
• Market Garden
• Specializing in Gourmet baby greens
• Chance to attend farmers markets
• Learn about the importance of having good ethics and how that affects the
business
• Opportunity to develop your own projects.
• Explore the art of living together in community and creating shared space,
having meaningful dialogue about conflicts that arise along the way. It will be
your responsibility to create a meaningful experience at Kind Organics.
• You will be empowered with individual responsibilities and will work as a
part of a team on a daily basis.
• While daily responsibilities need to be attended to, you are responsible for
the pace of your own learning, ask lots of questions and you will get lots of
answers…
• There are many resources available at the farm and we can facilitate your
learning. You will choose the pace and it will be your responsibility to engage
us about things you want to learn (self directed learning).

Kind Organics was initially set up as a CSA share Demeter Certified Organic
Farm in the year 1999. Kind Organics grows and sells a variety of niche market
crops at farmers markets and through several dozen stores and restaurants in
the GTA. We are at 3 year round farmers markets and 5 seasonal farmer markets.
