Job Descriptions
• Creating original works especially articles
• Proposing topics about which to write or receiving assignments;
• Gathering information about the topic;
• Selecting and organizing the material he or she has gathered;
• Revising or rewriting material;
• Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal
• Confer with management and editorial staff members regarding placement and
emphasis of developing news stories.
• Assign topics, events and stories to individual writers or reporters for coverage.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Knowledge Requirements
English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Computers: Must have very good computer typing skills
Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Time Management — Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
Originality — The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.
Thinking Creatively — Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships.
Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Educational Requirements
A Diploma or Degree in Literature, Journalism, Mass Communication, or any Liberal Arts Course
Must have very good writing skills
