The role of the
Senior Humanitarian Policy Advisor is to research, analyse and promote feasible
public policy solutions for children and their families living with conflict
and displacement. The role ensures that World Vision’s extensive knowledge and
experience in humanitarian response is established, built upon and highlighted
for the purpose of influencing decision makers to change their policies and
practices across the humanitarian system.
Who we’re
looking for

· High level
analytical and public policy development skills

· Ability to produce
high quality policy products as well as the skills to to translate complex
policy for others

· Experience in
policy development related to international humanitarian action and protracted
conflicts

· Ability to present
a position and influence the thinking and practices of key stakeholders [SA1]

· Outstanding
written and verbal communication skills, including spokesperson and public
speaking capability

· Strong
interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and develop synergies
with different teams and stakeholders

· Demonstrated
agility and ability to take initiative, probe for and drive solutions, work to
tight deadlines, exercise judgment and manage own workload

· Relevant
qualifications in public policy, humanitarian action, international relations
or similar, preferably at Masters level

What you
need to know

This role is a
permanent position operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our
head office in Burwood East, Victoria.

There maybe
international travel required from time to time and will require a Passport and
willingness to participate in health checks/vaccinations and security training.
