Vision seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced national for
the position of Nutrition Specialist. This position will be based
at the Head Office in Kigali, and reporting to the Resilience and Livelihood
Technical Program Manager.

guide the strategy and programming of WVR’s Nutrition Program and closely
integrate the same to Resilience for Food and Nutrition Security programs;
support the delivery of Programs in a way that promotes continuous improvement
and innovation in line with WV’s standards and guidelines and ensure alignment
with the Government of Rwanda’s policies and strategies. To provide
leadership and oversight of WVR’s Nutrition Programs, including the co-ordination,
design, monitoring and evaluation of all associated projects and
activities. This position will have full responsibility for the
successful delivery of WVR’s DME functions in respect to the Nutrition Programs

- Lead
the process of identification, assessment and design of new
Nutrition projects, including developing Grant/PNS proposals, log
frames and budgets in line with the LEAP framework and or /donor
frameworks. - Lead
donor engagement, and develop capacity statements for the sector.

- Support
project implementation teams through providing targeted training, tools
and resources on a regular basis to facilitate timely and quality delivery
of Programs. - Train
and support relevant staff members responsible for implementation of
projects on methodologies for timely and effective monitoring of project
activities. Provide technical supervision to all relevant project staff,
sector leads, grant project staff
Monitoring,
Evaluation, Reporting & Planning:

- Support
Nutrition sector programs monitoring, evaluation, planning and reporting
processes, with development of tools that can facilitate effective
implementation and quality of project deliveries. - Promote
excellent quality implementation on all projects under WVR’s Nutrition
Programs through strategic and effective monitoring of all project
activities throughout the project cycle. - Ensure
all project activities receive timely and effective evaluations according
to WV/donors guidelines and standards. This includes developing
Terms of Reference, briefing consultants where necessary, providing
support and feedback to the evaluation team, finalizing evaluation reports
and make recommendations for follow-up.
Technical

- Review,
provide input and endorse Nutrition programs technical matters, including
providing support to the process of procurement, supply and delivery of
all equipment and materials, staffing, and all other necessary inputs to
successful project outcomes, working with relevant WV departments. - Participate
in the recruitment of staff in the sector. Advise the WVR Procurement
Committee and Supply Chain on all technical matters relating to purchases
under the WVR Nutrition Programs
Mainstreaming:
- Contribute
the mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues in all WVR Nutrition program, in
particular the integration of child protection, disability and
gender. - Ensure
focus on Child Well-being outcomes, in particular the Nutrition outcome,
in all Nutrition projects.

Management:
- Support
keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all Program documents,
resources, lessons and good practices, and facilitate their circulation
and use within the NO, across the partnership and with partners. - Submit
comprehensive MMRs, strategic quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports
according to WV standards to line Manager . - Co-ordinate
all requests for reporting from the line Manager and/or the NO
senior leadership at all times. - Keep
records both soft and hard including plans, reports, TP and TA, etc. for
WVR Nutrition projects
Innovation:
- Facilitate
the introduction of new, innovative practices, methodologies or concepts
in WVR Nutrition Programs.

Partnerships:
Partnerships:
- Pursue
and develop meaningful and formal partnerships with Government, UN
agencies, NGO’s, research institutions and other community stakeholders
that will compliment WVR Nutrition Programs. Liaise regularly with
other WV offices, including regional advisor, to ensure projects are
aligned with WV policies and strategies and to share learning and
experiences. - Support
Cluster Program team to form partnerships with local governments
departments, NGO’s, CBO’s, churches and other partners in WVR operational
areas to discuss common issues and ensure timely planning, co-ordination
of activities, compliance to relevant standards and regulations.

degree in Public Health, Food sciences, Nutrition or related discipline. - Added
advantage:
Masters’ degree in International Public Health, Food sciences,
Nutrition or related discipline or additional credentials or certificates
in specific sector-related topics such as rural Nutrition, Food science or
Health
Experience:
- 5
years in Public Health or Nutrition program/project implementation or
community development preferably in a senior position in an international
NGO

Skills & Abilities:

- Fluency
in English, knowledge of French is an advantage. - Excellent
project management skills and good understanding of the project life cycle - Excellent
understanding of best practice Nutrition approaches in community
development - Experience
with development project management tools such as log frames, monitoring
and evaluation tools and budgets. - Excellent
supervision skills, including training, mentoring and supporting staff - Excellent
written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and
formal communication skills. - Excellent
computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Lotus Notes - Strong
negotiation skills. - Cross-cultural
sensitivity, flexible worldview, and ability to work with a wide range of
people from different backgrounds. - Emotional
and spiritual maturity and ability to lead a team of professionals. - Good
understanding of World Vision and Sphere relief standards. - Ability
to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural
context.
