Overview
World Renew, an
agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), is a
nonprofit, international development and disaster response organization, with
home offices in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
Key
Consultancy Objective
World Renew seeks to
engage an independent consultant who will develop a data entry system using the
Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro) for both Computer Assisted Personal
Interviewing (CAPI) and paper-based mid-term evaluations of household data for
the Sustainable Livelihood Development through Supporting Food and Economic
Growth program. The data entry and management system is to be used during
household surveys in five countries where the livelihoods project is implemented.
The data entry and management system should support both CAPI and entry of
paper-based survey data for non-CAPI countries. The final deliverable is a
ready-to-use, fully documented Data Entry and Management System in CSPro that
will minimize data error, ensure data integrity, and protect respondent privacy
with practical methods.
Primary
Consultancy Areas (see Terms of Reference for more detail):
- Develop
and support CSPro system for data entry and processing for paper-based
population
surveys
- Develop
and support tablet and laptop-based computer-aided interviewing systems in
CSPro
- Develop
a CSPro data archiving system and provide technical support for users
- Provide
guidance and support to the country-level survey teams as needed, to
ensure sufficient training and high quality implementation of the data
entry system
- Provide
country-specific data entry program and user manuals
Consultancy
Requirements
The independent
consultant should have knowledge of CSPro and statistical packages, such as
Stata, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), or Statistical
Analysis System (SAS). Experience with program evaluation methodology and
quantitative data collection methods is an asset.
