Providing
strategic and technical support for the mainstreaming of gender equality and
women’s empowerment across WFP operations in Rwanda. The incumbent will be
required to travel to support field offices and WFP’s operations as needed.

Under
the supervision of the Head of Programme Unit and with technical support from
the Gender Office at Headquarters and the Regional Bureau, the incumbent will
be responsible for the following duties:

- Coordinate
the implementation of the Country Office Gender Action Plan, linked to the
Regional Gender Implementation Strategy and corporate Gender Policy
(2015-2020), Regional Gender Implementation Strategy. - Coordinate
implementation of Gender Transformation Programme and follow up pertinent
issues to achieve the relevant targets. - Coordinate
the work and strengthen the capacities of the Country Officer Gender
Results Network members - Support
the CO management in ensuring integration of GEWE into zero hunger
strategic review and country strategic planning processes. - Provide
policy and programme support on specific gender issues that impact on WFP
operations, as needed - Organise
awareness events and staff training to develop staff capacities to
integrate GEWE into their work and assist in developing gender equality
training materials, adapted to the local context. - Organise
partner training to strengthen WFP partners’ gender awareness, gender
analysis capacities and ability to mainstream gender in programming and
operations - Support
the management in establishing and strengthening strategic partnerships on
GEWE - Support
the management in mobilising resources to support implementation of the
Country Office Gender Action Plan and related GEWE initiatives
STANDARD
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- A
university degree in social sciences, gender, international development,
human rights, development economics or related field.
Experience
- At
least one year of relevant work experience in gender or related field.
Language
- Working
knowledge (proficiency/Level C) of English is required - Working
knowledge of French and/or Kinyarwanda is an asset

- Knowledge
of gender in humanitarian and development settings, gender-based violence,
humanitarian policy issues and linkages with food security and nutrition. - Analytical
skills, including gender analysis. - Strong
communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate
through multiple mediums (e.g. policy, advocacy messaging, reporting,
training) - Proven
coordination skills - Knowledge
of the UN system, including gender-related mandates - Team
spirit and excellent interpersonal relations
