PURPOSE
PURPOSE
The
World Food Programme Rwanda received funding from the Republic of Korea through
the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to implement the second
phase of Saemaul Zero Hunger Communities Project (SZHC), in Nyamagabe, Karongi
and Rutsiro districts. The project duration is three years, from 2016 to 2018.
The SZHC project is an integrated rural development project which combines
elements of Korea’s experience in rural development called New Village Movement
(Saemaul Undong) with WFP’s Food for Assets schemes and the Government of
Rwanda’s Vision 2020 Umurenge (VUP).

Under
the overall supervision of the Head of Karongi Field Office, the Programme
associate / infrastructures will be responsible of the following duties:

- Carry
out joint operational activity planning and budgeting together with the
cooperating partners and ensure that expected annual deliverables and
targets are reached - Through
regular field visits, supervise and monitor the implementation of project’
infrastructures activities such as roads rehabilitation, construction of
community centers, warehouses, markets and selling points etc., ensuring
that technical norms and standards are respected. - Provide
technical support to the implementing partner and sector
technicians where required in connection with SZHC components. - Participate
in various meetings/workshops such as the technical working groups,
trainings and be involved and represent WFP in community mobilization
campaigns to foster the project ownership and community participation. - Prepare
and provide trainings to community leaders in line with infrastructures
maintenance - Prepare
ad hoc “notes for the records” and accurate monthly progress reports based
on approved M&E plans and checklists. - Report
immediately to the supervisor any arising issues that might hinder the
smooth project implementation. - Manage
all relevant project records, visual materials and document any lesson
learnt, challenges and success stories. - Perform
any other relevant task as requested by the supervisor.

Education:
University
degree in civil engineering, or in any other related field.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and
Kinyarwanda with a working knowledge of French; proficiency in both oral and
written communication in French and English is an added
value.
