Job Title: Coordinate volunteer program
Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET)
TASK
The key responsibility in this position is to recruit, place and support volunteers sought to assist WOUGNET and WOUGNET members.
This will involve establishing and building effective relationships with online and on-site volunteers; understanding the needs of the WOUGNET and WOUGNET members, and writing terms of reference or proposals to recruit volunteers (in collaboration with WOUGNET Program Heads), and maximizing opportunities for volunteer involvement.
The WOUGNET Volunteers Program Manager will liaise with the Coordinator administratively and with the respective Program Heads on particular tasks.
Time requirement is about 5 hours per week and consistent internet access (at least three times a week).
Assignment is for 6 months, renewable

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
WOUGNET aims at providing relevant information to urban and rural women and sharing of experiences for purposes of improving quality of lives – which it does through a variety of online and offline channels.
The Volunteers Manager position is a new role that responsible for developing and coordinating WOUGNET Volunteers Program. The role involves managing a portfolio of new and existing online and on-site volunteers successfully in order to enable WOUGNET accomplish her mission.
OBJECTIVE
Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) is a legally registered NGO initiated in May 2000 by several women’s organizations in Uganda to develop the use of ICTs among women as tools to share information and address issues collectively.
WOUGNET’s vision is a society in which women are empowered through the use of ICTs for sustainable development. WOUGNET has a number of program and activities in support of our vision and mission, for which volunteers can make a valuable contribution.
