Achieving reduction of Child Labor in Support of Education (ARISE) is a program
to combat child labor in tobacco-growing communities trough education,
mobilisation, economic empowerment, and the promotion of a regulatory
environment conducive to child labour pre
vention, ARISE is funded by the Japan
Tobacco International (JTI) and jointly implemented by Winrock international
(WI) and the international Labour Organisation (ILO), Winrock international is
recruiting for a temporary Finance Officer position to support the programme on
a temporary basis, The Temporary Finance Officer will be based in
Lilongwe.
Manage all financial and accounting aspects of program operations, including
developing financial projections for the program, Prepare monthly program
financial reports for submission to Winrock Home Office and follow up on
comments/feedback provided by the Home Office on the reports, manage relations
with banking institutions and ensure back balances are obtained on weekly basis
to track bank balances and project spending, Prepare monthly payroll and Pay As
You Earn (PAYE) taxes, including recording of applicable benefits, Maintain
bank, cash and checkbox records, Make payments to staff, consultants and
vendors in line with approved procedures and documentation requirement, Submit
monthly wire (funds0 requests to Winrock Home Office and ensure that
expenditures are carried out in accordance with the approved wire request,
Conduct other tasks as assigned by Program Director or Home office staff,
including assisting with maintaining Winrock and donor
procedures and record-keeping policies, Complete other tasks as assigned by
Winrock
Diploma or above in Accounting from a recognised and accredited
college/university, excellent knowledge and skills of accounting packages, more
than 3 yrs hands-on experience in day-to-day accounting work and financial
reporting for an international NGO preferred, The applicant must be a dedicated
team player who both picks things up quickly and pays close attention to
details
