Policy Studies
– $66,660 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation contribution. This is a
full time (36.75 hours per week) 12 month fixed term position with the
possibility of further employment beyond this initial contract.
About the Role
The Centre of Policy Studies is a self-financed research centre, undertaking
grant and contract-financed research projects for private and public sector
organisations domestically and internationally. Operating under the direction
of the Director (Centre of Policy Studies) and, as directed, under the guidance
of project-specific research leaders, the research assistant will be supervised
on a wide range of complex policy-relevant projects involving the development
and application of large-scale economic models.
About the Person
The successful candidate will have an honours degree or equivalent
qualification in economics with a developing interest in conducting applied
economic research, particularly in the area of CGE modelling. Proven
organisational and time management and excellent communication skills will
provide a good basis for learning how to analyse complex information and
produce clear, succinct reports and documents.
Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:
- Assist
in research and production of scholarly and other output based upon that
research. - Assist
in contract research in computable general equilibrium modelling. - Undertake
administrative tasks to support the centre’s research activities
