Variation of ethnicity in ABO blood group

Ethnic group consist of individuals and families who are members of
international, national, religious, cultural and racial groups that do not
belong to the dominant group in a society. They can be differentiated from both
the dominant group and ethnic group by some combination of their values,
expectation, geographics, location, language, attitude, customs, lifestyles,
rituals and celebrations.

Among the three ethnic group Urhobo, Isoko and Ijaw, the Urhobo are
people of southern Nigeria near the north western Niger Delta, the Urhobo is
the major ethnic group in Delta State, Delta State is one of the 36 states of
the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Urhobo culture speak urhobo language and
the Urhobo culture is related to several cultures in the Niger-Delta (Ekeh,
2005).
The Isoko is closely related in language
and culture, lead to the missionaries erroneously labeling the Urhobo and
Isoko cultural groups and sobo. This name was strongly rejected by both tribes.
However,, there are those of the opinion that Isoko is a dialect of Urhobo, Isoko
used to be regarded as a part of Urhobo nation until the late 1950s when they
were granted autonomy. The Isoko speak the Isoko language.
Ijaw also known by the sub-groups (Ijo or Izon) are a collection of people
indigenous mostly to the regions of the Bayelsa, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Akwa Ibom and
Rivers state within the Niger Delta in Nigeria. Many are found as migrant
fishermen in camps as far west as serra leone and as far east as Gabon along
the western Africa, the Ijo population is estimated to be over 15million
people, they have long lived in location near many sea trade routes, and they
were well connected to other areas by trade as early as the 15th
century (Kari, 2004).
