Medical Programs Specialist – Pediatrician – Lilongwe –
United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Position is open to all qualified Malawian nationals and other qualified
residents in Malawi who have the required permits
allowing them to work and
reside in Malawi

Medical Degree (MD or Malawi equivalent with Masters level training in
paediatrics or an MD with 5 yrs experience in paediatrics is required, A
minimum of 3 yrs of senior level public health experience in developing,
implementing an devaluating HIV/AIDS pediatric treatment and care or other
public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency
or implementing partner and clinical for paediatrics is required, Must be
eligible/qualified to practice as a specialist medical doctor (peditrician) in
Malawi, Comprehensive knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDS pediatric treatment
and are counselling and interventions, behaviour change, care, treatment and
testing is required, A detailed knowledge of the range of pediatric treatment
and care programs, policies, regulations and precedents applicable to
development and administration of national/international public health
pediatric treatment and care programs is required, Good working
knowledge of team management techniques to plan, organise and direct
multi-disciplinary project teams and activities and overall administrative
requirements, budgeting and fiscal management in support of
contract/cooperative agreements/grants purchase requisitions is required,
Thorough public health knowledge of current HIV/AIDS issues is required,
Comprehensive knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDS pediatric treatment and care
is required, Detailed knowledge of the Malawi health care systems and
structures including familiarity with Ministry of Health policies, program
priorities and regulations is required, Detailed working knowledge of USG
HIV/AIDS public health programs, strategies, methods, processes and techniques
used to plan, develop, implement and evaluate results of treatment programs is
require, Excellent oral and written communications skills to develop and
maintain effective working relationships with national and international health
partners are required
