Position Summary:
URC is currently soliciting applications for a Clinical Support Team Leader for a CDC District Health System Strengthening program in Malawi. The DHHS program aims to reduce overall population morbidity and mortality by increasing the effectiveness, sustainability, equity and efficiency of district-based planning, budgeting and implementation processes in selected districts, as well as supporting evidence-based prevention, care and treatment interventions at the facility level. The program will optimize health impact across multiple disease areas but with an emphasis on HIV, mother to child transmission of HIV, maternal and child health, and TB.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Ensure clinical care is in line with MoH guidelines and policies;
• Ensure technical care is patient focused;
• Support capacity building for district, facility and community staff based on objective needs;
• Support quality improvement interventions based on objective needs;
• Supervise clinical advisors.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in public health or medicine, a medical officer a plus;
• Experience in public health and project management, work in HIV/AIDS a plus;
• Demonstrated expertise with Malawi district health system and international organization preferred;
• Demonstrated leadership and skill in building effective partnerships with the ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels, including government and implementing partners;
• Proven success in team work with program and technical staff on a multi-site project;
• Ability to delegate effectively for results;
• Nigerian candidates strongly encouraged.
