UNV Programme Assistant Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

United Nations Volunteers (UNV) is
currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of
Programme Assistant in Kigali, Rwanda. The duration of this post is 12 months.
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV)
programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will perform
the following functions-
  • Collection,
    analysis and presentation of information for identification of areas for
    support and programme formulation/ implementation.
  • Analysis
    of AWP to align with UNDP strategy and available resources.
  • Creation
    of projects in Atlas, preparation of budget revisions, revision of project
    award and project status, determination of unutilized funds, operational
    and financial closure of a project.
  • Presentation
    of information for audit of NEX projects.
  • Preparation
    of non-PO vouchers for development projects.
  • Maintenance
    of the internal expenditures control system including timely corrective
    actions on unposted vouchers, including the vouchers with budget check
    errors, match exceptions, unapproved vouchers.
  • Creation
    of requisitions in Atlas for development projects, register of goods
    receipt in Atlas.
  • Making
    budget check for requisitions, POs and vouchers.
  • Prepare
    and organize the DRG 1 meetings and presentation.
  • Review
    of other agencies financial contribution to DRG 1 and share information
    with RCO.
  • Support
    the gender related work of PEU involving gender analysis and gender seal.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
  • Bachelor’s
    degree preferably in Economics, Business or Public Administration,
    Political Sciences and Social Sciences with experience in Accounting and
    Finance.
  • At
    least upper second class of marks in the bachelor or Honor’s degree.
  • 2
    years of relevant administrative or programme experience is required at
    the national or international level.
  • Past
    work experience with accountancy and financial management.
  • Ability
    to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge
    and experience of working with local partner agencies with a capacity to
    provide formal and informal training.
  • Proven
    ability to deal with multiple tasks in a courteous and service-oriented
    manner in a demanding working condition.
  • Ability
    towards analytical and creative thinking for rapid solutions.
  • Flexible
    and adaptable.
  • Fluency
    in English is required.
  • Knowledge
    of French is desirable.
