The University of
Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) delivers education, research and
community engagement activities aimed at improving the health and well-being of
regional, rural and Indigenous communities within the New England, North West
Slopes and Plains, areas of the Hunter Valley, Mid-North Coast, Manning Valley
and Great Lakes regions.
Through a variety of
programs the UONDRH has made it possible for undergraduate and postgraduate
students studying medicine, nursing and allied health disciplines at the
University of Newcastle to complete a large part of their education and
training in a rural setting at one of six main locations (Tamworth, Armidale, Taree,
Moree, Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour), as well as placements in other small
population centres in the region.
About the
role
The Lecturer,
Nutrition and Dietetics will oversee and support nutrition and dietetics
student placements in the Coffs
Harbour and surrounding districts. They will liaise with
placement supervisors and students in the region, coordinate timetabling for
nutrition and dietetics students, provide sessional face-to-face teaching and
collaborate with other academic and professional staff to develop and implement
inter-professional education and research opportunities.
This position is
based in Coffs
Harbour.
Skills and
experience
To be successful in
this role, you will have:
- a
recognised Degree in nutrition and dietetics; - registration
or membership (as applicable) with the relevant regulatory organisation; - a
minimum of two years relevant post-graduate practitioner experience; - excellent
written and verbal communication skills and - demonstrated
ability to effectively work independently and as a member of a
multidisciplinary team.
This opportunity is
offered on a fixed term, 0.8 full-time equivalent basis, until the end of
2018. Job-sharing will be considered.

Academic Level B –
$92,574 to $109,933 per annum pro-rata, plus employer superannuation
contribution of 9.5%.
