The
Kalman Visiting Fellow will be expected to engage with staff and students in
the host Department, and to present at least one seminar. The Fellowship is
worth NZD$10000, and can be spent on travel, accommodation, or other associated
expenses.

This Fellowship is named after John Kalman, who was a professor of Mathematics
at the University of Auckland from 1964 to 1993, and a leading promoter of New
Zealand mathematics. The Fellowship is generously supported by a grant from the
Margaret and John Kalman Charitable Trust.
Mathematicians within 10 years of receiving their PhD are encouraged to
apply now for the Kalman Visiting Fellowship, for a visit in the period October
2016 – September 2017.
