NOTE: ALL NON-LIBERIAN APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED WORK AND/OR RESIDENCY PERMITS ALLOWING WORK IN COUNTRY BEFORE BEING ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. The U.S. Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of Warehouseman within the General Services Section.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
Performs manual supply task in the NR-1 GSO Warehouse. Delivers and packs up furniture to and from residential houses and office furniture and equipment as indicated on the work order. Receives incoming household and office furniture, appliances and household effects (HHE) in the Warehouse. Unloads 20’/40′ containers of goods for receiving and inspection. Sets up furniture in lots for sale. Delivers HHE and UAB to residence.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receives incoming household and office furniture, household effects (HHE) and UAB into the Warehouse. Unloads incoming expendable supplies and/or non-expendable property, opens packing boxes, creates or containers and breaks down pallets.
2. Receives goods for inspection and set up furniture and other material in lots for auction/bid sale.
3. Operates forklifts, hand trucks and other handling equipment to proper storage location.
4. Assists in filling requisitions by pulling items on delivery truck. Assist in re-stocking items to consolidate storage space. As directed, checks storage areas to ensure that items are properly stored and located and that no safety or fire hazards exist.
5. Keeps storage areas clean and neat. Assists in the conduction of warehouses’ inventories and performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Completion of secondary school is required.
2. Six (6) months warehouseman and/or laborer experience.
3. Level II English ability (limited) is required.
4. Must learn locations of supply items and have basic knowledge of warehousing procedures.
5. Must be able to lift heavy items and operate a forklift. Heavy duty driver’s license for forklift operation required.

SELECTION PROCESS:

2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
