Atlas Peoplesoft Enterprise
Resources Planning (ERP) System

UNU
uses modules from two PeopleSoft ERP suites, FSCM (Financials and Supply Chain
Management) and HCM (Human Capital Management) in support of its administrative
and management functions.  Branded as Atlas and in use by multiple
agencies, the ERP system is a shared service provided and maintained by UNDP.
The
shared ERP system will be upgraded to 9.2 from 9.0 by September 2016.  UNU
specific customizations are mainly in the areas of Asset Management,
Procurement, Catalog, Contracts, Revenue and Billing Plan Templates, Contract
Product Groups and security.
We
are looking for a highly experienced ERP Project Manager to assist UNU with all
aspects of the upgrade from planning to strategy to implementation through
go-live in close coordination with UNDP.  With new possibilities emerging
from cloud computing, the landscape of ERP is changing and has become more
diverse.  In this context, we expect this project will go beyond the
upgrade implementation and will include a fresh consideration of UNU’s current
ERP strategy vis-à-vis the new ERP options in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

    • Take a
      leadership role in the overall management of the detailed project
      schedule with the business owners and project team.
    • Define
      and implement the upgrade plan; ensure the project and tasks are
      completed according to agreed  timelines.
    •  Proactively
      advise stakeholders of risks, issues, and status of key metrics.
    • Work
      closely with business owners of  various functional areas to
      maintain business values and configuration to provide accurate financial
      data and reporting.
    • Provide
      hands-on analysis of upgrades, enhancements. or changes to the ERP while
      ensuring that modules used will remain in alignment with UNU’s ERP
      objectives.
    • Provide
      full life-cycle support in requirements definition, system analysis,
      design, development, quality assurance, documentation, testing, and
      production support.
    • Determine
      business requirements taking into account existing customizations and
      9.2-delivered features within the constraints of the shared ERP
      environment.
    • Produce
      a fit-gap analysis, and ensure it is thoroughly documented and accurately
      captured in a Requirements Traceability Matrix,
    • Adequately
      document all work activities, including functional and technical
      specifications, configuration changes, enhancements to interfaces and
      business processes, and test plans,
    • Represent
      UNU in inter-agency meetings and liaise with UNDP regarding upgrade to
      9.2,
    • Provide
      knowledge transfer and training to project team members to include
      PeopleSoft module implementations/upgrades, financial tables, business
      processes, and configuration,
    • Conduct
      training to end-users  on the expected benefits of 9.2 and changes
      as a result of the upgrade,
    • Conduct
      all activities in accordance with project management guidelines, change
      control practices, and standard Information Technology governance
      structures.
    • Perform
      other duties as assigned,

Required qualifications and
experience

    • A
      bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or
      Engineering, with at least 7 years of specialized relevant work
      experience;
    • Excellent
      understanding and experience in a mainstream ERP system and proven experience
      with implementation of ERP upgrade projects;
    • Strong
      knowledge of ERP functionalities within the areas of GL, KK, AM, AP,
      Procure-to-Pay, Revenue Management (Contracts, Grants, AR, Billing;
    • Good
      command of concepts related to ERP operations, RDBMs and SQL;
    • Experience
      in working with multi-currency projects;
    • Extensive
      and proven experience with conducting technical feasibility studies and
      identifying technical dependencies;
    • Experience
      in gathering, analyzing functional and technical requirements from key
      business areas, developing work breakdown structure,  communicating
      clearly complex and critical issues to, and making formal presentations
      and recommendations to senior management;
    • Knowledge
      of any industry standard SDLC;
    • Familiarity
      with IFRS or IPSAS accounting standards and practices;
    • Strong
      ability to establish priorities, multi-task and work within tight
      timelines;
    • Excellent
      written and spoken English language communications skill is essential.
      Working knowledge of other UN official languages will be advantageous;
    • Excellent
      team player with time management skills; ability to work independently
      effectively at all levels of a collaborative team environment.

Remuneration

A
competitive salary will be offered to the successful candidate, depending on
candidate’s qualifications and relevant work experience.

Duration of contract

This
is a full-time employment. The successful candidate shall work under a
Consultant Contract (CTC) for a fixed period of twelve (12) months for the above-mentioned
project. No consultant shall provide accrued services for more than twenty-four
(24) months in a thirty-six (36) month period.
The
successful candidate will not hold international civil servant status nor be a
“staff member” as defined in the United Nations Staff Rules and Regulations.
