Organizational
context

Under the guidance
and direct supervision of the UN Resident Coordinator and the Senior Policy
Advisor, the UN Coordination Analyst strengthens capacity of the UN Country
Team, analyzes political, social and economic trends and provides inputs to
preparation of country programming products including the Common Country
Assessment (CCA) and United Nations Development Assistance Frameworks (UNDAFs),
supports the national strategies setting, provides assistance to development
and implementation of the collaborative and joint programs and monitors
progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Global
Conferences.

The UN Coordination
Analyst will support the emergence of new aid frameworks for Rwanda. S/ he will
learn from the past experiences of the UN´s past work with the Rwanda-owned
Reconstruction and Development Program and from the implementation of the UN
Rwanda Assistance Strategy.

The incumbent will
work very closely with Rwandan authorities and other partners, in particular
the Ministry of Planning and parallel technical units within the ministry.
Close working relationships with Rwandan partners will be essential and will
allow the incumbent to successfully promote a Rwandan voice at national and/or
international events.

The UN Coordination
Analyst will work closely with the national and international partners,
including donors, Private Sector, UN Agencies, NGOs, IFIs and CSOs so as to
maximize synergies and reduce the risk of overlap between the various actors
involved in pushing forward the agenda of reconstruction and development in
Rwanda. The incumbent will also work closely with UN colleagues to develop a
Development Assistance Database and maximize its impact and use.

    information/ communication focal points of the UN system.

key results have an impact on the design and implementation of UN program
activities, strengthening of strategic partnerships for UNCT Programming
including UNDAP implementation.

Recruitment
Qualifications

Education:

  • Master´s
    Degree or equivalent in Economics, Social Sciences, International
    Relations, Political Sciences or related field.

Experience:                 

  • Two
    years of relevant experience at the national or international level in
    providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design,
    monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
  • Knowledge
    about the UN and RC systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience
    in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in
    handling of web-based management systems.

Language
Requirements:

  • Fluency
    (both verbal and written) in English and French and Kinyarwanda.
