Under
the technical guidance of the chief of Nutrition Programme or Nutrition
Manager, and the direct supervision of the head of UNICEF field office, the
selected candidate will:

- Provide
technical assistance to assess the women and child nutrition situation. - Develop
strategies and implementation frameworks (revised annual work plan) in
consultation with key partners such as the UN partners (WFP, WHO), the MOH
and NGO Partners - Provide
technical assistance to government officials and partners in the
delivering a comprehensive package of nutrition services (e.g. infant and
young child feeding practices, micronutrient supplementation, treatment of
acute malnutrition) as per national/international standards. - When
countries have not been cluster activated the candidate will provide
technical support to the Government to ensure adequate coordination with
key stakeholders - Support
country teams with the identification of key partnerships for
implementation of priority actions - Follow
up on implementation of the revised nutrition AWP - Undertake
frequent field visits to all affected sites to monitor implementation of
activities - Identify
opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed - Monitor
and document the current nutrition situation to feed into project
proposals and reporting documents.

- Advanced
university degree in Public Health and/or Medical Sciences. - Five
years of progressively responsible professional work experience in
humanitarian situations in developing countries in the field of nutrition
in emergencies - Fluency
in English (verbal and written) and French.

- This
is a consultant position. The contract may be renewed after the initial
period based upon performance and funding situation. - HSP
