National Consultant : Elections Research Officer ,

Fluency in oral and written English is essential, Knowledge of local languages
is considered an advantage
Expected period of the assignment is 6 months with possible extension, The
national consultant will work under the direct supervision of and report to the
UNDP Senior Election Advisor and in close collaboration with the Malawi
Electoral Commission (MEC) and Malawi Electoral Support Network (MESN)
Partnership building, stakeholder consultations and communication, Preparation
and/or assistance to the development of technical papers, reports and
presentations, support to the election reform entities, Undertake other duties
as assigned by the SEA
Excellent knowledge of and extensive experience in Malawi, including in
dialogue and conflict prevention initiatives is an advantage, Previous experience
in preparing and monitoring workplans, Prior professional experience working
with UNDP or international NGO highly desirable, Expertise in developing
strategies to develop stakeholder engagement plans and relevant response
planning to reduce such tension, Politically astute with demonstrated
experience in analysis and engagement, Proven highly developed analytical
capabilities, Proven policy, advisory and advocacy experience and track record
of engagement with senior levels of govt, civil society and donors, Excellent
knowledge of Malawian politics, Experience in election related work in Malawi,
At least 7 yrs of experience in election related professional roles, Advanced
degree (Master) in International Development Studies, Law, Political Science,
Economics, Social Science, International Relations,
Public Policy, Communications or another relevant subject
