Primary role of the Business Development Executive is to improve
Ulalo Capital Investments’ market position and actively secure long-term
financial growth by developing and implementing the Company’s strategic goals
for business development, in accordance with Company’s strategic direction
The Business development
Executive is expected to identify revenue-generating opportunities that enhance
and uphold the Company’s all-encompassing Mission and Vision, manage key
customer relationships, negotiate and acquire business deals, as well as
maintain extensive knowled

ge of current market conditions

Reporting to the Chief
Operating Officer
Strategic Planning –
Presenting to and consulting with senior and middle management on business
trends with a view to developing a pipeline of new services, products and
distribution channels, Development and presentation of Business Plan
Blueprints, Deal origination and negotiations, Impacting the profitability of
the Company through ensuring strategic and tactical management decisions and
new business development results, Analysing and submitting monthly reports on
revenue-generation goals and making recommendations for
adjustments/interventions as necessary
Sales Marketing and
Business Development Planning – Prudently conducting all business transactions
within corporate ethical guidelines and managing resources within budgetary
guidelines in accordance with Company policy, Researching, identifying and
recommending projects to be pursued and acquired  as new businesses in
the fields of trade, property, commercial farming, holiday accommodation,
mining, manufacturing, energy, construction and venture capital, Coordinating
presentation/pitch approaches and provide direct marketing to new business
prospects, Based on market research and competitor analysis, developing and
implementing high-impact, highly integrated marketing and advertising strategy
with results-oriented public relations programs to the targeted geographic area
to maximise revenue-generation opportunities, Attending industry-focused
functions, events and conferences to keep abreast with market and creative
trends, and maximise the Company’s networking base
Client Relationship
Management – Actively managing key relationships with existing and prospective
clients within the Company’s CRM for growth and sustainability, This requires
understanding the business and marketing challenges of all clients, Working
closely with technical staff and other internal colleagues as needed on the
delivery of service and product initiatives
People Management –
Building and leading an effective and cohesive business development team,
Demonstrating knowledge, understanding and support of the Company’s mission,
vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating
instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethics behaviour,
Maintaining the Company’s culture, values and reputation in its operating
environment and with all staff, customers and relevant stakeholders
Bachelors Degree in
Business Administration, Strategic Management, Marketing, Finance or related
field from a recognised University, A Masters degree will be an added
advantage, A minimum of 5yrs of project/program or contract management
experience, Knowledge and understanding of current trade, industry and economic
issues facing Malawi, Business acumen with strategic leadership skills, High
degree of integrity, dependability and confidentiality, Strong conceptual,
analytical, written and presentation kills, Strong interpersonal and
communication proficiencies coupled
