Job Title: General Manager- Operations
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager Operations will manage operations of three (3) manufacturing units.
Specific Job Roles
o To monitor the unit’s budgets on an on-going basis and take corrective action where necessary
o To monitor the units production costs and implement remedial action where necessary
o To hold regular communication sessions with unit management
o To manage and achieve volume targets
o To assess and recommend the implementation of unit projects
o To develop and recommend strategies to the Managing Director/Chief Executive
o To draw up and assist with Capex budgets
o To stay abreast of new developments in the industry
o To complete performance evaluation in respect of senior managers
o To mentor, coach and advise unit managers on an on-going basis in all aspects of their duties
o To approve payments in line with authority limits
Requirements
o A first degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Applied or Social Sciences.
o 15 years work experience at managerial level of which at least 7 years
o must be in related work area.
o Cross functional/category experience
o Strategic and commercial track record
o Knowledge of competitors and market dynamics
o Computer literate (MS Office)
o Production and maintenance planning process
