Construction has started and finance is approved for this burgeoning miner looking to take advantage of the hesitancy of the major market players by pressing forward with its stable, ambitious Queensland based mining project.
With cash flow at the ready the time is right to strike while the irons hot and move towards the next phase of the resource development project with addition of a few key individuals within the project and technical disciplines. Based on an excellent FIFO “working week” roster with travel time included a Contracts Administrator / QS is needed with a particular key focus on the early construction phase of the project.
Successful applicants will be expected to have a confident understanding of contract administration and QS activity preferably in excess of 3 years and within a resources, EPCM or heavy industry business.
To be considered for this opportunity you would be able display a number of the following attributes:
• Strong commercial acumen
• Commercial negotiation skills
• Pre-award contracting knowledge
• Contract delivery
• Construction contracting, earthworks and bulk works experience ideal
• Confident understanding of the mining and resources industry
• Accurate estimation and cost management within a project environment
You will also be able to demonstrate the following personal attributes / qualification:
• Degree qualified (Engineering or Procurement preferred)
• QS qualification
• Flexible innovative approach
• Calm and confident in pressurised situations
• Adaptable to change
• Results and achievement focused
• Motivated by project success and working within a tight experienced group
It is highly desirable that you will have experience in either an established resources / EPCM businesses where you were expose to major project estimation and cost within a contracts function. You will also demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to function in an ever evolving environment expected within a sustainable but innovative business.
