Since 1988, the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) has campaigned
locally to find solutions to Toronto’s
urban environmental problems. A
not-for-profit organization, TEA advocates on behalf of all
Torontonians for a green, healthy and equitable city. We rely on our
members to help us work with communities and we act as an
environmental watchdog at City Hall.
The Position:
We are hiring a summer student to help with community outreach,
including tabling at events, speaking at schools and helping to
coordinate volunteers. Candidates must be prepared to work outside of
the office and in the community, talking with residents about building
a greener Toronto. This position particularly focuses on TEA’s Waste
Free Challenge project in Scarborough Area.
Candidates must be available to start as soon as possible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual will :
• Attend events on behalf of TEA;
• Help respond to requests for TEA to attend events;

• Train volunteers on TEA and TEA issues;
• Liaise with community members and organizations on behalf of TEA;
• Be willing to work some evenings and weekends; and

communities in the Southwest area of Scarborough.
