Three Postdoctoral positions in physics or astronomy
at the Department of Physics and Astronomy
The department of Physics and Astronomy is active within three main areas: education, research and cooperation with society. It is organized into the divisions Applied Nuclear Physics, Astronomy and Space Physics, High Energy Physics, Materials Physics, Materials Theory, Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics, Nuclear Physics, Physics Education Research, and Theoretical Physics. The department has 280 employees, with about 80 permanent academic staff, 20 junior academic staff, 20 postdocs and 100 doctoral students. Duties: The position consists of at least 80 percent research and no more than 20 percent teaching.
Recruitment Period: The period of employment is 2 years. Starting date February 1, 2012 or as agreed upon.
Prerequisites: To be eligible for a position as postdoctoral researcher the applicant’s Ph.D. degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application date; however, periods of e.g. sick leave or parental leave are deducted from the three-year period.
Ranking criteria: In ranking eligible candidates, special importance will be given to scientific skills.
In filling these positions the university aims to recruit the persons who, in the combined evaluation of competence, skills and documented qualifications, are judged most suitable to carry out and develop the work-in-hand and to contribute to a positive development of the department.
